Blown Head Gasket - Overheating

I recently had some serious ca trouble where i saw that the car was mixing water with oil and you could see oil in the radiator, apon asking a few experts the problem was diagnosed as a blown ead gasket. Naturally to avoid being taken for a ride by these service garages i wanted to know what sort of method of repair was needed.

Firstly i will cover the signs and symptoms of a blon heat gasket:

1. Milky white oil from dipstick,
2. Loss of water from no visible leak,
3. Ovrheating when travelling,
4. Loss of engine power when car is in operating temperatures.

The procedure that the mechanic has to partake to repair a car with a blown head are as follows:
1. Removal and skimming of the head to level the surface because it will have warped.
2. Cleaning of radiator and oil system and replacing of the oil filter.
3. Purchase of a new head gasket.

After this the car should be fine, if it does the same again, check if te head was skimmed propely.
